Effect of Apitoxin therapy on the inflammatory edema at knee joint in rats

Abstract
This study was performed to investigate the effect of apitoxin therapy on the inflammatory induced by 0.1% carrageenin solution at Rt. knee joint in rats.
After carrageenin injection. the apitoxin was injected for two times (Therapy I : lhr and 2hrs later, Therapy II : 48hrs ard 72hrs later) into A-Si-hyol(edematous point) [sample-A group] and the locus corresponding to Lt. Jog-Sam-Ri (St_(36)) of the human body[sample-B group] in rats.
And then the effects of apotoxin therapy of the inflammatory edema were estimated by the WBC count, RBC count, hemoglobin level, hematocrit level and ASO titer in serum.
The results were summarized as follows :
1. The effect of apitoxin on WBC count showed noticeable at Sample-A group and Sample-B group as compared with the control group in both therapy I & II.
2. The effect of apitoxin on RBC count showed noticeable at Sample-A group as compared with the control group in both therapy I & II.
3. The effect of apotoxin on memoglobin level showed noticeable at Sample-A group and Sample-B as compared with the control group in both therapy I & II.
4. The effect of apitoxin in hematocrit level showed noticeable at Sample-A group as compared with the control group in therapy II.
5. The effect of apotoxin on ASO titer showed noticeable at Sample-A group as compared with the control group in therapy I, but noticeable at Sample-A group and Sample-B group as compared with the control group in therapy II.
